Through Hope Society's program, the ladies and gentlemen will learn to utilize the tools of recovery to achieve the life they have always imagined, but never thought possible. Studies indicate that the greatest chance for relapse occurs during the first 90 days of sobriety, but temptation is always a possibility. SOBRIETY IS A FULL- TIME, LIFE-LONG JOB! To help clients achieve sustainable recovery, our addiction specialists prepare our residents for the future with relapse prevention education and aftercare plans specific to them and their life.

Relapse Prevention Education

Triggers vary between addicted individuals, and some seem obvious (stress, bars, happy hours, or friends who habitually use drugs). Unfortunately, when our residents dig into the root of their addiction, they discover less obvious emotional triggers like loneliness, depression and anger. Some clients struggle with dual diagnoses, and their mental health condition triggers the compulsion to drink or engage in drug use. Relapse vulnerability is complex and varying, Hope Society addiction recovery team will dig deep during private and group therapy sessions to uncover triggers and help develop tools to deal with these triggers and emotions appropriately.

Goal Planning for Success

Throughout the recovery process, it is essential to celebrate small victories. These celebrations keep our participants moving forward with a positive attitude! Looking toward the major goals they will achieve over time. Just as important as acknowledging these incremental successes is planning for long-term success. At Hope Society, we provide the strategies, education, sober living opportunities, and ongoing support needed to avoid the triggers and temptation waiting to derail sobriety.

Before our ladies and gentlemen graduate from Hope Society program, they will have a drug or alcohol relapse prevention plan tailored to their substance abuse history, family and social situation, past traumatic experiences, and personal addiction triggers. It is our job to arm them with the tools needed to stand strong in their sobriety: prepared to live life with integrity and grace while walking the path to physical, emotional, and spiritual restoration.
